Finding Your Passion When You Hate Your Job

Trust me, I’ve been there…getting up and going to the same old job, with the same old people doing the same old thing…It’s a DRAG (I know).
You know you are NOT passionate about a job when you have to force yourself to go everyday and you sit and literally count down the hours and minutes before 5:00 p.m.
Luckily, I managed to find my passion and I have few tips to share with you.
Tip 1. Perfect your Craft
Let’s face it! Your current job pays your bills…While you are there you want to foster skills and habits that you will need when you find the job you love. Work on your punctuality, attendance, professionalism and always give 100% even when you feel like 60%.
Your organization may have perfected their business model, pay close attention to the operation and techniques and use them as take always for running your own operation.
Tip 2. Don’t Confuse Profitability with Passion
We all like money! But following the money would not always lead you to your passion (unless your passion is money of course), similarly following your passion would not always mean money will rain upon thee.
It takes time…Be patient!
How do I find my passion?
Sure, many people say follow your passion but they never tell you how to find it, where to start and how not to go completely broke doing it (which is the most valuable piece of advice).
Finding your passion is not easy…you may have to go through several failed attempts before you figure it out but you must enter the process with an open mind, a positive attitude and a truck load of patience. Look for all the signs that guide you and do not ignore the signs that tell you it isn’t working.
Finally, here are few handy tips I use:
Journal things you love
Try at them and see which ones come the most effortless
Rank them in order from most liked to least liked
Tip 3. How do I make my Passion Profitable?
You need to follow the below checklist:
Who would benefit from my product or service?
Would people pay for this?
What are the risks associated?
What is the startup cost?
Would this require me to keep my full-time job or would I have to leave?
The above are critical questions you need to ask yourself before you could see the $$ from your passion.
If that still doesn't help schedule a one-on-one session here.
In my own experience I’ve found that when I started to follow my own passion I somehow came up with ideas to drive revenue to maintain it.
Yes…I listen to talk shows with hosts who tell you follow your passion and the money will follow but NONE have told me how to do so…
I hope my trial and error tips give you a nudge in the direction to follow your passion and if you have any other ideas leave a comment down below.
